Arizona beach volleyball commit playing in AIA 5A semi-finals
Goodyear’s Millennium High Tigers (17-0, 10-0) are rated the fourth-best team in Arizona and the No. 71 team in the nation by MaxPreps. Their postseason play has backed that up.
The second-seeded Tigers will face off against the Campo Verde Coyotes this evening for a berth in the finals. University of Arizona Beach Volleyball 2019 commit Alana Rennie will play a big part in whether the Tigers reach the championship round.
Rennie was second on her team with 8 kills in the opening round sweep of Marana’s Mountain View High. She accomplished it on a .429 hitting percentage. She had only two attack errors in the three-set victory. Rennie also had a service ace and zero service errors.
For the season, she has 265 kills on a .308 hitting percentage. She has also thrown in 21 total blocks and 105 digs.
Rennie is listed at 5’6″ or 5’8″, depending on the source, and plays right side hitter at the high school level. She doesn’t have the size for most positions on the indoor court, but she should make a nice addition to coach Steve Walker’s beach team. That team will have four players graduate or exhaust their eligibility this season.
